How Getting Covered Works
Most applications go from first conversation to approved policy in a few weeks, and sometimes faster when no exam is needed. These are the steps.
- 1
The first conversation
You explain what you want to protect. We ask about your income, debts, family and health to see which kinds of policies fit.
- 2
Choices laid side by side
We show two or three fitting policies with the monthly price and what each covers. You choose, or take some time first.
- 3
Applying and underwriting
We complete the application together. The insurer might request a medical exam or review records, and we update you on its progress.
- 4
Your policy, gone over in detail
Once approved, we walk through every page with you: how much coverage, who the beneficiaries are and when payments are due.
Life and Retirement Coverage We Offer
One policy is usually enough. Term life runs for a fixed number of years, often 20 or 30, and gets you the most coverage per dollar. Whole life and universal life last your entire life and grow cash value, each by its own method. Final expense covers a funeral and last bills, mortgage protection pays the loan if you die, and retirement income planning turns your savings into monthly income.

Term Life Insurance
Affordable coverage for the years your family relies on your income, with the coverage amount and term length worked out on paper before you apply.

Retirement Income Planning
We line up Social Security, pensions and savings, find where the monthly income falls short, and explain the insurance options that can fill the gap.
Universal Life Insurance
Permanent coverage with premiums you can adjust, plus a clear look at the charges and cash value that decide whether the policy lasts.
Final Expense Insurance
A small permanent policy that pays for a funeral, medical bills and other final costs so your family is not left covering them.
Whole Life Insurance
Permanent coverage with a fixed premium and cash value, shown next to term pricing so you can see the real tradeoff before you decide.
Mortgage Protection
Life coverage sized to your mortgage balance and term, paid to your family instead of the bank, with level and decreasing options compared side by side.
What Sets the Cost of Your Policy
Insurers price every application on the same short list of factors. A few are up to you and a few aren't. These count the most, explained simply.
We go through quotes with you by phone, showing the price and coverage of each choice. The final premium is set by the insurer once underwriting reviews your application.
- How old you are when you apply
- Each year older raises the price. The same coverage costs far less bought at 35 than at 45, and most policies keep the rate fixed once it's locked.
- Your health and tobacco use
- Insurers review your medical history and prescriptions, and sometimes a brief exam. Using tobacco or nicotine causes one of the largest price increases of all.
- How much coverage you buy
- A bigger death benefit means a bigger premium. We base the amount on real figures like your debts, income and future school bills instead of a round number.
- Term or permanent coverage
- A 10-year term is cheaper than a 30-year term. Whole life and other permanent coverage cost more monthly since they never expire and build cash value.
- Riders you add
- Extras like waiver of premium or child coverage each raise the price a bit. Some make sense for you and some don't, and we'll say which.

Questions People Ask About Life Insurance
Something not covered here? (972) 910-7230
How much coverage should I really carry?
Begin with what your family would lose and what bills would remain. Total the income they'd need for a certain number of years, your mortgage balance, other debts and costs ahead like college. Subtract savings and any group coverage from work. We do that math with you on the call.
Should I choose term or whole life?
It depends on the person. Term costs less and runs for a fixed period, which suits most people with kids at home or a mortgage. Whole life costs more, lasts your whole life and builds cash value. Permanent coverage can be the better choice for an estate or for a dependent who will need support for life.
Is a medical exam required?
Sometimes. Certain policies use only health questions and a records check, while bigger coverage amounts often call for a brief exam and blood draw. Final expense policies usually need no exam. We'll let you know ahead of time which type you're applying for.
Doesn't my employer's policy cover me?
Most of the time, not fully. Work coverage is often one or two times your pay, which seldom handles a mortgage plus years of income, and it usually stops when you change jobs. Plenty of people keep it and add their own term policy.
Can I get coverage with health problems?
Usually, yes. Diabetes or high blood pressure can raise the cost, depending on how well they're controlled. If a standard policy isn't possible, guaranteed issue final expense policies skip health questions, though most have a waiting period before the full benefit is paid.
Can I update my beneficiary down the road?
You can. Most insurers accept a change form at any time. Major events are a good reason to check again: a marriage, a divorce, a new baby or the death of someone on the policy. Call us and we'll review who is named on yours.
Can mortgage protection take the place of regular life insurance?
It can, but it does less. Mortgage protection is designed to clear the loan if you die, and the payout often drops as you pay the balance down. A standard term policy gives your beneficiary a lump sum for the mortgage or anything else. We'll put the two side by side for you.
Why Clients Call Us First
We tell you what a policy does, what it costs and what it leaves out. Then you decide.
We ask before we quote
We start with who depends on your income, what you owe and how long they'd need help. The answers set the coverage amount. Guessing high just raises your premium.
We say when term is enough
A lot of families only need coverage until the kids are grown and the mortgage is paid. If that's you, we'll say so, even though a permanent policy costs more.
Every option side by side
When more than one policy fits, we lay them out together: monthly cost, how long the coverage lasts and what changes over time. You see the trade-offs before you apply.
Beneficiaries set up right
A policy is only as good as the names on it. We go over primary and backup beneficiaries with you, and we flag it when a minor child is listed, since that can slow a claim.
One person to call later
After the policy is in force, questions keep coming. A new baby, a divorce or a paid-off loan can all change what you need. You call the same number and talk it through.
